The idea for this blog was inspired by authors Alex and Brett Harris, who wrote a book called Do Hard Things, to challenge teens (and others) to rebel against low expectations placed on them by modern society. They called this idea the Rebelution.
Every year, Alex and Brett tour the U.S. in a series of conferences. This year, unfortunately, will be their last tour. They will be coming to Orlando, Florida; Williamsport, Pennsylvania; San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; Kansas City, Kansas; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This is a great event, full of worship, of learning how to "do hard things," and of meeting great people. I encourage each of you to come to one of these, if you can make it. The prices aren't too heavy, and you can find dates and price info here: http://www.therebelution.com/conference/
Most of us that teamed up for this blog will be going to the Portland conference on July 30th. If any are interested, we could meet them there and chat! Let us know via comments below.
Here is a promo video for the conference, to show you more about its purpose:
To whom it may concern, These articles are written solely by teenagers and should be regarded as their own work, no one else’s. We do not belong to any other organization nor do we answer to a higher authority other than our Lord Jesus Christ. This blog is composed entirely of our own opinions based on Scripture and common sense.

Unplanned (the dvd)
Unplanned, Tyndale House, 2011, Abby Johnson, documentary

Watch the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC6thU987CY
Synopsis: After the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas participated in her first abortion procedure, she quit her job and walked across the road to join the Coalition for Life. In this heart-stopping documentary, you'll discover how Abby Johnson's spiritual transformation instills hope and compassion into the political controversy surrounding this difficult issue. Approx. 60 minutes.
My thoughts: Unplanned tells a story the likes we dance for joy to hear. Abby Johnson, who grew up in a Christian home in Texas, found herself leaning towards the defense of women who were derided by condemning Christians. Eventually, she found herself regretting her decision, and chose to defend unborn lives instead. With the help of 40 Days For Life and Coalition For Life, she tells her story for us all to hear. It is an amazing encouragement in the arena of pro-choice vs. pro-life.
My rating: 5 stars
A FREE Unite For Life webcast is coming up on May 17th, at 8:00 p.m. (all time zones). To register for this free webcast, go to www.uniteforlifewebcast.org

Funding
So, the government will not be shut down. (stay with me on this one, I'm not getting deep in politics, yet) They made a big spending cut, the largest annual cut in history. But whose funding did they not cut? You guessed it, Planned Parenthood. (third paragraph down: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/government-shutdown-officials-agree-deadline-deal/story?id=13333717) This infuriates me! Now, how do YOU feel about it?
